The most important piece of equipment an athlete possess is his body. We kicked off our 2010 summer speed, agility, and conditioning camp today. It was quite impressive to see more and more people realize it isn’t the bat, it isn’t the cleats, it isn’t the gloves, it’s the athlete that makes the player good. We have over 25 young athletes coming to camp this summer to improve their game. For the first time we have more female athletes than male athletes. These are the people who realize investing in their physical conditioning is an investment in their success in their sports. I have written about the success stories of some of the athletes who have participated in our camps in the past and it is good to see some of the most successful ones return for another camp this summer. Testing went well today and camp officially starts tuesday at 6:30 a.m. There is still time to sign up. If you still wish to sign up contact us at 847-395-6100 or e-mail us at info@kcconditioning.com.
I did have a chance to watch one of our clients compete in dressage today. She has been working on core strengthening, flexibility, balance and endurance to improve her riding, and it did. If you look at the focus of her training you see the foundation for almost any athletic conditioning program. It is nice to see our training crosses into arenas (don’t mind the pun) that are not considered traditional. Being fit helps all areas of life. Those people who come to us inspire us and everybody around them. There’s nothing wrong with that. Our hats off to all those who go the extra step to improve themselves. Have a good week.
